Vinea
Terms of Use
Last updated 30 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Vinea when you use the Vinea apps and this website. Please read them; by using Vinea you accept them.
1. The service
Vinea offers the day's Mass readings, the liturgical calendar, traditional prayers and devotions, teachings, sacred music and an optional community for adults. Much of it can be used without an account. Some features need one.
Vinea is a tool for prayer and formation. It is not a substitute for the sacraments, for your parish, or for pastoral, medical, legal or psychological advice. While we take care over the texts we publish, liturgical readings and calendars are provided for devotional use; where it matters, consult your parish or the official liturgical books.
2. Your account
- You must give accurate information and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and at least 18 to use the community features.
- You may delete your account at any time, in the app or on our account deletion page.
3. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
Vinea has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. By using the community features you agree to follow our Community Guidelines and not to post or send anything that:
- is sexual, pornographic or sexually suggestive, or sexualises minors in any way;
- harasses, bullies, threatens, intimidates or demeans anyone;
- promotes hatred or violence against anyone, including on the basis of religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, disability or any other characteristic;
- encourages self-harm, suicide or eating disorders;
- impersonates anyone, including falsely presenting yourself as a priest, deacon, bishop, religious or parish;
- exploits people spiritually, financially or emotionally, including soliciting money or relationships under the appearance of ministry;
- is spam, a scam, or misleading;
- infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy, or shares someone else's personal information without consent;
- is otherwise unlawful.
Any post can be reported from within the app, and you can block anyone from their posts. Blocks take effect immediately and are invisible to the person blocked. You can also report any content or person to claudeappiahsasraku@gmail.com. We review reports promptly and act on them within 24 hours: we remove content that breaks these terms and suspend or remove the accounts responsible. Serious or repeated breaches lead to permanent removal.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you publish. You give Vinea a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display it to the audience you choose, only for the purpose of operating the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep it as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what you publish and confirm you have the right to publish it.
If you upload music, you confirm that the declaration you make for each song is true: that it is in the public domain, that it is your own composition, or that you have the permission of its composer or publisher. Our licence above then also lets us stream the recording to people using Vinea. See Copyright for how to report infringement.
5. Verified clergy and religious
A verification badge means only that our reviewers confirmed the person's standing with the diocese, institute or parish they named, on the date recorded, and that the confirmation has not expired. It is not an endorsement by Vinea or by the Church of anything the person says. Presenting yourself as clergy or religious when you are not is grounds for immediate and permanent removal.
6. Moderation and appeals
We may remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts that break these terms or our guidelines. Reports that concern doctrine are referred rather than decided by our moderators. If we act on your content or account, you can appeal the decision from the notice on your Me screen in the app, and we will review it again.
7. Acceptable use
You must not interfere with the service, try to access accounts or data that are not yours, scrape it, probe or bypass its security or rate limits, or use it to build a competing database of its content.
8. Our content and third-party texts
The Vinea apps, their design and their original content belong to Vinea. Scripture and prayer texts are public-domain or used under licence and remain subject to their own terms. You may use them for personal devotion but not republish them from Vinea commercially.
9. App stores
If you downloaded Vinea from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and Vinea, not Apple or Google, who are not responsible for the app or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use must also comply with the store's own terms, including Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement where it applies.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Vinea is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Vinea and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop offering the service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice where we can.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Vinea afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
